USA Visa

Non-immigrant visas are a class of USA visas for all business trips or other short-term visits to the United States, plus student study terms and work permits.

People who want to visit the United States on a temporary basis as tourists should look at the USA visitor visa B2 (also known as the US Travel Visa). B2 visas are granted for a period of six months, and, like their business counterpart US B1, they don't allow you to work in the United States. If you want to live and work in the USA, and you have the offer of a job in place, then you should apply for an H1-B visa.

If you want to transfer from an overseas office of a American company then you should look at the L1 visa.

US Immigration

If you want to move to America permanently you need to think about applying for the American Green Card, which will grant you the status of Legal Permanent Resident. This confers you the right to have permanent, lawful residence in the United States.

You can apply for a Green Card via through what is called the family visa route, though you will need a sponsor. The exact position of this sponsor will depend on their relationship to you, but they will need to be either an existing permanent resident or a US citizen.

US permanent residents may sponsor their partner, their spouse, their fiancé, plus any dependent children through what is called the USA K visa category.

US citizens may sponsor a much wider range of their relatives including their parents and brothers and sisters.

Green Card

There are five different employment based immigration services, all of which represent different routes to you getting your Green Card:

The US work visa EB-1 and the EB-2 visa are both for skilled applicants and can be obtained by those who are deemed to have "extraordinary" or "exceptional" ability respectively.

The EB-3 visa and the EB-4 visa are for foreign nationals who wish to migrate to the USA and are based on employment opportunities.

The EB-5 visa - also called the US Investor Visa, grants permanent US residence for those that can make a substantial investment.

Applying for a US Green Card in this way can take a substantial period of time. A way to deal with this is to enter the US on a temporary work permit such as a H1-B or H2-B, or an L1, and then apply to get permanent residency from inside the country.

Green Card Lottery

The US Green Card Lottery grants immigration to a certain number of people who come from countries that qualify. One of our consultants will tell you whether your country makes it possible for you to apply to this Lottery.

US Student Visa

Visa nationals, i.e. people who need a US visa to visit the USA, may take study courses in the US and gain work experience. Suitable candidates can visit the country to undergo training on a J-1 visa, and students are allowed to study in the US for academic or vocational qualifications on an F-1 or an M-1 study visa.
